However, because the needles are very thin<br \/>\nthe gentle insertion is generally painless.<\/p>\n<p>The most common effect of an acupuncture treatment is relaxation and an overall feeling of calmness.<br \/>\nHealing can only occur when the body and mind are in a state of relaxation.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008996;\">Is it safe?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Yes. Sterile, single use, disposable needles are used. The needles come in individualized sterilized\u00a0packages and are discarded after a single use.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008996;\">How many treatments will I need?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The number and frequency of treatments needed is individualized. It depends on the nature, severity\u00a0and duration of the condition. Acupuncture has a cumulative effect so it is often suggested that a\u00a0patient receive 4-6 consecutive treatments before reassessment.<\/p>\n<p>Usually, acute conditions may resolve after a short course of treatment while chronic conditions may\u00a0require a longer course of treatment before significant changes occur. Since acupuncture treats the\u00a0whole person, you should see an overall improvement in your health as your main ailment improves. A\u00a0treatment plan will be tailored for you.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #52cebe;\"><span style=\"color: #008996;\">Do you treat children?<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Yes. The age of the child will determine which therapies are used. The most frequently used therapy is\u00a0Shonishin, which a specialized, non-invasive form of pediatric acupuncture that uses small metal tools\u00a0to stimulate and harmonize children\u2019s health naturally. It does not hurt and is often soothing.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008996;\">Does insurance cover the cost of treatment?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>While I do not accept insurance currently, some insurance companies do cover acupuncture treatment.\u00a0I am happy to provide a receipt or \u201csuperbill\u201d which can be submitted to your insurance company for\u00a0personal reimbursement. It is the patient\u2019s responsibility to confirm coverage for acupuncture treatment.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008996;\">What forms of payment are accepted?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Cash, check and credit card.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008996;\">Is there a cancellation policy?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Yes, there is a 24hr cancellation policy.
